Nanjing possessing 180 potential scenic areas 
 
        Tourism resources of Nanjing are not single. A reporter learnt from Nanjing Bureau of Tour that the other day, the related department investigated 668 scenic areas with possibility of development and advantage in 13 districts and towns in Nanjing, including 180 potential ones among them. This was the first large-scale investigation into urban tourist resources in China.

        According to the investigation, Nanjing is obviously still a humane tourist city. The number of humane scenic areas occupies 86.27% of all tourist resources while that of landscape areas occupying 13.73%.

        As shown by the investigation, these 180 potential tourist resources include the Imperial Palace of Qianlong (a famous emperor of the Qing Dynasty), the Ruins of Baoen Temple, the Mausoleum of Boni King, etc.

        This investigation has also revealed some disadvantages of tourist resources in Nanjing, e.g. the serious damage done to tourist resources in the city proper. And in suburbs, despite such plentiful tourist resources as Zheng He¡¯s Tomb, Two Mausoleums of the South Tang Dynasty, etc, low development has been affecting the management of these resources.
